Temporary Road Closure Order
Town Police Clauses Act 1847
In accordance with Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, which section gives Wiltshire Council ("the Council") the power to make an order for roads within its administrative area to be closed temporarily to all vehicular traffic (and for alternative routes to be observed) for the purposes of preventing obstruction.
The Council HEREBY ORDERS
On: Saturday 16th June 2018 between the hours of 11.30 - 12.30 and for part (h) Holder's Road only, 12.00 - 1800.
Purpose: Amesbury Community Carnival and Show
That the following roads and street in the Town of Amesbury are to be closed (save in any case of emergency) to all vehicular traffic:
a) Antrobus Road; from its junction with Holders Road to its junction with Earls Court Road.
b) Earls Court Road (Part); from its junction with Antrobus Road to its junction with Smithfield Street.
c) Smithfield Street (Part); from its junction with Earls Court Road to its junction with A345 The Centre.
d) A345 (Part) The Centre; from its junction with Smithfield Street to its junction with High Street.
e) High Street; from its junction with A345 The Centre to its junction with Salisbury Street
f) Salisbury Street; from its junction with High Street to its junction with A345 Salisbury Road
g) A345 Salisbury Road (Part); from its junction with Salisbury Street to its junction with Smithfield Street.
h) Holders Road (Part); from its junction Antrobus Road to a point adjacent access to Holders Road Field.
Nothing in this Order shall prevent vehicles from proceeding in the said lengths of road when being used in connection with the event stated above.
AND it is also hereby ordered that appropriately sign posed diversionary routes will be in place throughout the period of closure.

IMPORTANT: It is an offence to wilfully breach the terms of this order and anyone committing such an offence shall be liable on summary conviction in Magistrates' Court to a penalty not exceeding £1,000.
